![]() Go to the Visual Studio installation folder (normally under %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio) and delete the folder ‘2017’Ħ. Try to delete the following installed folders: (you can back up those folders before any modification, in case we need to roll back)ģ. Go to the folder: %ProgramData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio and delete the ‘Packages’ folder and ‘Setup’Ĥ. Go to Control Panel-Programs and Features, if there has ‘Microsoft Visual Studio 2017’, right click it and choose ‘Uninstall’Ģ. I suggest you can try steps below to troubleshoot:ġ. There are two main aspects you could try to fix: your Windows environment and VS installer. Not only the Win 10 system crashing, but also the VS IDE doesn't run smoothly. I understand how this inconvenience it brings to you. I suspect that part of the problem is that the installer is a 32 bit program and from what I've seen from the change log on the creators update patches, Microsoft has been trying to fix 32 bit program support in most of NET compilers for F# and C#, but I also have to use this really badly optimized 32-bit installer to modifyĪnd update this really bad IDE. Not only do I have to have this really large unwieldy IDE on my machine to gain access to the. This entire situation is making be quiet angry. SMART numbers as well as read and write numbers are all fine, my CPU is not overheating, my ram passed a lengthy Ramtest and SFC and DISM do not show any errors on my windows image. I know it is an issue with Windows because If I boot into a Linux partition everything works as it should, also my HDD I've also tried running the Installer as an Admin. I tried booting into safe-mode but I still encountered the same exact errors. Also, if i leave it long enough the VS installer just crashes entirely and comes back with an error saying the installation or removal process has failed. During that hour of down time, the VS installer is not using my network or my HDD and windows It will like download 3% of the file that it needs to install then sit for about an hour before it continues to download. Not only does it crash windows but ItĪlso basically freezes itself. When I try to use the Visual Studio 2017 installer to either remove Visual studio or modify the tools and compilers that I have installed on my computer, Visual studio 2017 crashes windows like I explained above. Was mostly resolved in the last patch, KB4025342. The largest of these is when windows 10 literally just crashes for no apparent reason and freezes for about 1-20 minutes or until I reset the computer. Since the creators update, I've encountered some pretty unforgivable problems with windows 10. I will try uninstalling the software and re-installing and post an additional update on the issue if it may help people in the future having the same problem as me.I am trying to either completely remove Visual Studio 2017 or Update Visual studio 2017. I am starting to suspect my version of inventor has become sentient and is discriminating me based on my gender or skin color. But oddly enough, this operation does not crash on liscences of colleagues. Thanks in advance for any help you can provideĮdit: I have installed the latest patches of inventor and still nothing. Also, inventor version used here is the 2020.0.1 student version of inventor professional and software is windows 10. I can do everything else and the software works fine (create parts, save them, draw sketches, add other parts to the assembly I've included a screenshot of it frozen and also the error message that comes up in windows event viewer when the crash happens.Ĭomputer probably isn't the problem since RAM, VRAM, disk space and others are more than enough and the system seems to respond well to other programs. No crash, the software stays active but won't respond anymore, but oddly enough, the RAM use jumps from 500mb to 790mb every time. The software allows me to open the frame generator window and preview the frame, but once I click ''Apply'', the entire window freezes. ![]() So I deleted the parts and tried to put them back in. I've already put this particular piece of tubing in this assembly a few days ago but had to delete it due to some adaptive links going missing. Currently working on a project and it is a large assembly (industrial support structure, current size of the folder at 52mb) and I need to add square tubing to support a platform.
